Part 16: Keep Looking
"Gone what do you mean she's gone?" Kurama had stood up immediately, worry etched into his normally angelic and pleasant face.
Gone where? Hiei thought, observing the scene before him. He surveyed quietly as Shadow was in a frenzy, trying to figure out it seemed, where Brianey could have possible gone to. Kurama had disappeared out of the room, mostly likely to alert or check to see if Shadow was telling the truth. The fire youkai however kept an impassive face, though his insides were wriggling in doubt and worry for her.
"Hiei will you help!" He glanced up to Shadow quietly. She was begging him with her eyes. Hiei sighed.
"You don't have to beg me onna. It's my job to find her." The demon snapped, disappearing out the room in a blur.
"I'm fine... just cold. My name is-" You paused before replying. "Chloe." He smiled, coldly. I don't trust this guy.
"Chloe? It is a pleasure to meet you." He replied analysing your features. Shivers ran down your spin uncomfortably and your stomach gave a sickening lurch. "Come... I will take you some where warmer." He continued as he turned his back. Contemplating silently you took a quick glace away from him, back to the direction of the apartment, of safety. They don't care about you. Stop fooling yourself. You followed the stranger.
"How far do we have to go now? I can't feel my feet." You shouted to him, turning round he gave you a sly smile before pointing to a small crevice in the side of a nearby stream - most likely a cave.
"We are there... do not worry yourself, Chloe." He told you nonchalantly. Nodding you pulled your coat around you tighter and hitched your bag up, before quickly
"I guess you're not either?" You asked watching him; he looked up at you smirking.
"Very observant. I am a wolf demon." He replied going back to his task, not noticing your surprised and concerned features. A wolf demon?
"Oh right, what are you doing out here anyway?" You asked, trying to sound un-phased.
"I am looking for someone. That was all, having not found the demon I shall be going to Makai in the morning." You heard him make a small pleased sound and looking over you found he had gotten a fire going, sighing you felt the warmth reach you, enticing you nearer, obliging you hugged your knees to your chest as you stared into the flames.
