Koenma opened his files. Sighing deeply as he sipped his coffee. It was three in the morning and he was deeply tired. Putting his mug down he came across the file he needed.

The figure went silently to the computer switching it back on and calling up the file. His crimson eyes skimming the page.
"Hn. What's so special about this On'na?" He mumbled to himself. Flicking off the computer he turned his back and walked out the doors to the comforts of his own room. Getting there, he sat on the sill of his window over looking the view of the Rekiai.
Today is the 1st of September... we leave tomorrow, to that other country...
"Well. I better pack. The baby will not change his mind. Stubborn fool." He muttered in disdain as he went to his closet and opened it, he took out a duffel bag and set to work on his task, even if he was highly unhappy, he could not protest. He was still on probation. This on'na better be worth our time... if she isn't I'm having her head He thought.
Following Day,
The detectives sat in various spaces around their living quarters in their apartment. Koenma had supplied them as such and it was, continently situated on the outskirts of town on the border from Living world to Spirit world, the River Styx flowed to the right of their house about a mild away.
They we're tenser than usual, as Hiei seemed to be in the foulest mood possible. Yusuke, the lead detective flicked through the channels of their flat screen TV, looking for anything remotely interesting. Kazuma was playing with his beloved kitten, Eikitchi and Kurama was fixing a light lunch for the four.
"Hiei, are you sure you don't wanna talk about what's eating at you - you seriously look like you've got something shoved up your ass."
"Detective... if you value your life... and your throat I suggest you shut up and leave me alone. I am not in the mood."
"Whoa... I've never seen him this mad - except for when Yukina was taken... but ...I saved her!" Kazuma was proudly smiling now, Hiei lunged for him.
"Whoa!" Yusuke, had intercepted Hiei, he held him in an arm lock as the fire demon tried to break free, Kurama was observing quietly.
"Yusuke - I want you in my office now - I have a mission for you... bring the others as well." The internal communicator that permanently linked their apartment to Koenma's sounded. A portal appeared by the archway separating the hall and the living room.
"Hn." Hiei sounded, throwing Yusuke off him and walking out the door. The others all glanced at him before abandoning what they were doing and following their friend to Koenma's office. All of them thinking the same thing. What is wrong with Hiei?

"What the hell!" Yusuke had totally exploded now, glaring at the toddler before him like he wanted nothing better than to strangle him into an early grave.
The four of them, had not long arrived in Koenma's office after being summoned. Yusuke, Kuwabara and Kurama had seated themselves in the chairs in front of Koenma's desk; Hiei had taken the window sill, as usual. They had listened intently as the ruler had filled them in on their new assignment - a 20 year old English girl, by the name of Brianey Jane Walker. Apparently she was a demon - but her powers had been dormant, until now. However some of them were not set on this task for certain reasons.

"Yusuke, I don't think shouting is going to help us in the case. Koenma, would you mind explaining why we have to go to her?" He didn't sound to pleased himself, but was trying to stay calm, Koenma sighed nodding and raised his eyebrows at Yusuke for him to stop. Grumbling the boy sat down.
"As, I have told you - she: Brianey, is a Darkness Wolf demon. Her mother is a wolf... her father a darkness demon. However they have been hiding for the last fifteen years. As far as we are aware, They were forbidden to see each other as their two clans did not get on... and also because her father is a know wolf hunter..."
"Wait... if he hunts wolves - why did he marry one?" Kuwabara had blurted it out, making Koenma clenched his hands.
"He fell in love with his target..."
"Fool. He should have killed her. If that was me I would have killed her before such weak emotions like love had ever set in." Hiei's voice drifted to them, earning him a quick glance. Koenma nodded.
"Be that as it may Hiei, it happened, and they produced Brianey. I assumed her powers would show straight away, but they did not; it's unknown why. They have not even told her what she truly is. It is therefore your job to watch her. If she shows any signs of becoming a threat. I want you to bring her to me and I will explain everything to her - about the three worlds and demons. Otherwise you are not to tell her anything. I mean this and it is my direct order that you keep your identities hidden from her and her family. Understood?"
There was a round of nods from three of the four detectives. They all looked at the disagreeing one. Hiei had risen from his place and was looking at them all.
"I will go with you - because I am still on probation... but that does not mean I am at all happy with this arrangement. If I do not like it I am coming straight back here Koenma." He swiftly left the office, slamming the door. Koenma gave a deep sigh.
"You leave immediately, go pack your things oh and I have told your parents that you are all going on a exchange trip. Kayko however knows and said she is coming with you - with her boyfriend-"
"Boyfriend! Since when has Kayko had a boyfriend?" Yusuke was staring shocked and angry yet again.
"I... I was going to tell you before Yusuke. I met someone in college." Yusuke turned to looked at the worried face of his best friend since childhood, the one he loved the most. Kayko was standing there hand in hand with a tall brown haired boy.
"Um... this is, Yuki... h-he's in my classes at college... and he's... my boyfriend."
